Submitted by on Saturday, 27 March 20102 Comments

fit-pc-slim-xpHave you experienced PC shrinkage?  Well, maybe you have not yet, but the chances are that you will very soon.  There are more laptops, tablets (iPad, HP Slate) and just plain old small PC computers hitting the market now than ever before.  There have been compact computers for many years, actually about 10 years now.  However, since the price of these micro PC’s has been more than a regular big box computer, the consumers have not really payed attention until now.

Since the smaller parts and components used in smaller form machines, now you can get a full strength computer in about 15th the site for less money.  Well we say less money, but the truth be known, you may have to sacrifice some drive space and cpu speed to actually see the savings.  The point is that the table is turning and the mini PC is here to stay.  As for the big old box sitting on your desk might be the computer dinosaur of tomorrow.

Asus has a few models of smaller machines and this is nothing new for them, they have been cranking out these shrunken PC’s for a while now.  However, they are offering more in their tiny box PC releases than most of their competitors.  Asus even offers ad new one that will boast USB 3 Technologies before most anybody else in competition with these guys.

There are a whole new category of laptop that make the portable PC more affordable to all consumers, now you can get a full featured laptop with Windows installed on it for less than $300 in most cases.  However, if you want something small for home, you can get away for even less.  The Fit PC Slim is a mini PC that also runs silently. If you are like me, your desktop probably makes more hums and other noises than  most used cars.  So if you want something that can fit in your pocket and is quiet, one of these new micro PC’s might be the answer.

Sweet Micro PC’s

Here are a couple of the coolest micro pc’s currently on the market, there are some others out there, but these are the ones that stand out in the TechBloq book of PC goodness. Don’t worry there will be many more to come soon.  These are both in the 200 dollar ballpark and have a lot to offer beside an insainly small footprint.
