The competition in the cell phone market between Google Android enabled smart phones and the ever popular iPhone are really heating up. Many users say that there is no comparison and HTC and other phone manufacturers that are taking advantage of the Google mobile OS are simply trying to catch up to Apple and their hugely popular iPhone models. The tables do seem to be turning as there are more Android enabled phones and now they are creeping in on the Apple iPhone’s home turf, AT&T.
The Android enabled phones also offer an app store like the Apple Apps Store, but there are not near as many applications nor developers, so
this may not be a strong point if you are looking at the new HTC Droid phones. The Apple iPhone has one of the most renowned interfaces and award winning ease of use, now of course the people who have a HTC Nexus 1 or Back-flip say that you can learn them if you use them a lot, but who wants to have to work at learning a phone. It just seems that apple has the winning points where the users really want
them. This will be hard to take away from the loyal iPhone users and this may be where the other companies need to focus if they plan on stealing these Apple-Happy cell phone users.
The new Apple iPhone 4G will be out in the next month or so and it will be interesting to see if people continue to flock to it now that there are other comparable options. I think that the market share, the apps store and all the accessories for the iPhone still make it a winner.
However, we will have to see what the new price tag looks like before we make any rash decisions like that. There will be some new competitors hitting the market as the Windows 7 Phone and other phones using this new Microsoft Mobile OS start to get into the marketplace, however windows mobile devices have never done very well historically and we cannot imagine what would make this one any different.
The iPhone 4G is also rumored to be released on the Verizon 4G network, so it will be interesting if AT&T starts loosing sales to this G network which claims to have more coverage. This will all unravel itself in the next few months and while all this is happening there are a few new Palm phones hitting the streets too. Oh, and did you know that HP just bought Palm. There is going to be another iPad player in town pretty soon too.
